- Increase of efficiency of disc brake by means of selecting combination of 2+n friction materials in friction unit.
- Automated detection of foreign objects at the rails based on Rayleigh surface waves.
- Increase of wheel-rail adhesion by means of impulse supply of quartz sand under the wheels proportionally with movement speed.
- Decrease of wear intensity of rolling stock wheels by means of dosed discrete lubricating surface of wheel flange by solid lubrication.
- Raising of efficiency of disc brake by means of forced cooling of disc working elements.
- Mechanical valve for abrasive environment that implements principle of force minimization when interacting.
- Wheel pair for special railway transport with protection against derailment.
- Automation system for detecting cracks and reducing attachment of elements of locomotive underframe.
- Study of the force interaction of the wheel-rail tribological system when quartz sand is introduced into contact.
Inventions Introduced into Production
- Results of researches in wheel-rail adhesion improvement, wheel wear rate reduction and disk brake efficiency improvement are used at the enterprises of France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine.
- The device that increases wheel-rail adhesion by supplying quartz sand in proportion to the movement speed is installed on trams produced by Electrontrans (Lviv).
- The device for lubricating wheel flanges is installed on the trams produced by Electrontrans (Lviv).
Current Scientific Projects
- Disc brake based on applying nanomodified carbon-carbon friction materials for high-speed electric trains with a speed of 350-450 km/h.
- System for antiterrorist safety of railway passengers that provides automated train control in the case of terrorist act commitment.
- Magnetic system to improve wheel-rail adhesion due to supplying ferric oxide to wheel-and-rail contact.
- Sand-filling machines for trams and locomotives based on applying gravitation and mechanical method.
